On Sunday, April 26, I'm running the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon — 13.1 miles through North Brooklyn, along the East River under the Williamsburg, Manhattan, and Brooklyn Bridges, finishing in Prospect Park. Over 25,000 runners, one of the biggest half marathons in the country.
Why I Signed Up
I coach women in strength training for a living. My days are spent in building gyms across Manhattan, teaching squats, deadlifts, and overhead presses. Running 13.1 miles isn't exactly what I coach. So why sign up?
Because I believe in practicing what I preach. Showing up consistently. Following a program. Trusting the process week after week. These are the things I ask of my clients — and racing the Brooklyn Half has been a reminder that I have to ask them of myself too.
See You at the Finish Line
If you're in Manhattan and thinking about starting your own strength training — whether for a race, for general health, or for something you've been putting off — I'd love to talk. I offer in-building personal training across the Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Tribeca, and SoHo. Free consultation, no pressure.
See you in Prospect Park on April 26.
