Why I Race HYROX: Fitness, Mental Health, and Finding Purpose

Personal trainer Elena Lymperi races HYROX New York to raise funds for mental health awareness.

I've always believed that fitness is about more than just physical strength. It's about pushing limits, building resilience, and discovering what you're capable of. But recently, I discovered another dimension: using fitness to make a difference.

My First HYROX

I'm proud to be a HYROX competitor, taking part in the New York event. For those unfamiliar, HYROX is one of the world's most demanding fitness races—a combination of running and functional workouts that tests every part of your athleticism. But this race means more to me than just competition.

Racing for Mental Health

Through this event, I'm fundraising for mental health awareness and support – a cause deeply important to me. Every rep, every kilometer, and every drop of sweat is dedicated to those fighting silent battles every day. Mental illness affects 1 in 8 people globally, yet effective support remains drastically underfunded. By racing, I hope to help improve access to mental health resources and break the stigma surrounding mental illness.

How You Can Help
